The meaning behind the name

Why “Ember”?

An ember is what remains after a fire; small and quiet. While still visible, it retains heat and light. And with the right conditions, it can glow again.

When you have experienced birth trauma or perinatal loss, it can feel as though the person you were and the future you had imagined no longer exist. The trauma and grief that follow can be overwhelming, leaving you feeling empty, lost, and utterly alone in what you are carrying.

The name Ember was chosen because it speaks to something we believe deeply. Even in the darkest moments of loss, something within you persists. Something that is still warm. Still alive. Still worthy of tending to.

As a service, we exist to tend to that Ember, with warmth, compassion and great sensitivity, being with you every step of the way.
